WAIVER WIRE

Think of it like a waiting list for unclaimed players. When someone in your league drops a player or a player wasn’t drafted, they’re not instantly available for anyone to grab - they go onto the “waiver wire”

How It Works

  1. Waiver Period Starts

    • Usually, right after a player is dropped or after Sunday’s games end, all the free agents get “locked” so no one can instantly pick them up.

    • Instead, they go on waivers for a set time (1 Day)

  2. You Make a Claim

    • You say “I want that player” by placing a waiver claim

    • You can even put in claims for multiple players (rank them in priority order just in case)

  3. Who Gets the Player?

    • After the waiver period ends (Wednesday morning), ESPN looks at waiver priority to decide who wins the player

      • Waiver priority: Like a line - whoever’s first gets them

      • Waiver order: Resets each week to inverse order of standings

  4. Player Joins Your Team

    • If you win the claim, the player is added to your roster

    • If not, you can still pick up other available players who are now “free agents”

Example

  • You see a backup RB had a breakout game Sunday.

  • He’ll be on waivers until Wednesday morning

  • You put in a claim

  • Two other people also put in claims

  • If your priority is higher, you get him

  • If not, you cry a little and try again next week.
